PRODUCT

How many cups of coffee can I make from a 250g bag?

Our 250g bags makes 15 cups of coffee. Our 500g bags will make 30 cups of coffee. This is based on 16g of coffee being used for each cup.

How much coffee is in each bag?

Our coffee's come in 250g bags. If you order one bag, you will get 250g of coffee. If you order two bags, you will get two 250g bags totalling 500g of coffee. For our subscribers, we also offer a 1kg bag.

What is tasting notes?

Tasting notes is not to be confused with actual flavour - There is a marked difference between the two. What tasting note describes is the subtle difference from the normal taste of coffee. For example, a coffee may be described as having notes of melon because it has a hint of sweetness and fruity flavour.

In addition, taste is subjective. Your own reference point for taste will be different to someone else's reference points and what you may describe as grapefruit aroma someone else may say citrusy aroma. So tasting notes are a guide and is subjective to each individual.

What does ‘speciality coffee’ mean?

Specialty coffees are only deemed as such if they receive a Quality Score of more than 80 from the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). The Quality Score is based on a scale of 100 and is judged on a variety of factors, which include sweetness, acidity, balance, mouthfeel and flavour. All of the coffee's at Kaphi Beans score 80+.

Are all your coffee's freshly roasted?

Yes, all of our coffees are freshly roasted. We then rest these coffee to release the trapped CO2. The trapped CO2 clouds the flavour of the coffee making coffee taste acidic and sour. By allowing your coffee to rest and releasing the trapped gas opens up the flavours and increases the clarity allowing you to fully appreciate the different characteristics of the coffee. At Kaphi Beans, we will only send you coffee that has been roasted within 7 days.
